Personal

Biography:

Tim received his Master of Science degree in optical technologies and image processing in 2016 from the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, Germany.
After spending a semester abroad to write his master's thesis at ID 16A of the ESRF in Grenoble, France, Tim got into the topic of computer tomography which led him to pursue a PhD degree in x-ray computed tomography with a focus on algorithm development at VisionLab of the Department of Physics, University of Antwerp.

Research

Tim's current project focuses on the reconstruction of glass fiber-reinforced polymers (GFRP) using a parametric model and prior knowledge.

He is also heavily involved with the development of reconstruction software for the FlexCT project (NL, EN).

Teaching

Teaching activities:

Master in Physics:
2018 - 2021: TA for Prof. Sijbers' course on X-ray (micro-)tomography
2019 - 2021: TA for Prof. Sijbers' and Prof. De Beenhouwer's course "Reconstructietechnieken in medische beeldvorming"

Tim is a reviewer for the journal Applied Optics
