Joint estimation of phase and diffusion tensor parameters from multi-shot k-q-space data: a proof of concept

To address the issue of phase induced artifacts in multi-shot diffusion weighted imaging, we propose a model-based framework which enables the joint estimation of diffusion and phase parameters
directly from the multi-shot k-q-space. In a simulation study, we show that using this framework, diffusion parameters can be estimated more accurately and precisely than with the conventional
method (image reconstruction followed by voxel-wise model fitting) that ignores phase differences.
